With more than 230 million Americans and 1.3 billion people across the world logging on, we can be sure the Internet is here to stay! Parents are concerned about what their children are being exposed to and educators wonder how they will compete with the exciting and dynamic world of Instagram and Youtube.
This has created a digital divide between teens and their parents and educators. I have developed a Cyber-Education program that spans K-12 and includes the education of parents to help bridge the generation gap.
My program takes a unique approach by breaking the content into age appropriate lessons. It has been instrumental in provoking conversations between parents and children that ultimately lead to compromise and understanding, teaching both groups how the Internet can be a positive and vital resource if used correctly.
